How can we create by taking inspiration from life or with life, compose with living or partially living systems or organisms? This approach, which involves rethinking the relationships between humans, non-humans and environments, is implemented here by exploring the notion of “behavior”, whether it involves living, artificial or hybrid systems.

The "Behavioral Matter" project is implemented by EnsadLab, the research laboratory of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD - PSL) with the support of the Chaire arts & sciences of the École polytechnique, the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs - PSL and the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation and with the partnership of the cluster "Matters of Activity. Image Space Material" from the Humboldt University of Berlin and the fonds PERSPEKTIVE for contemporary art & architecture, an initiative of the Bureau des arts plastiques of the French Institute, supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Goethe Institute.
